The journal provides space for creativity, with opportunities to write, draw, and decorate, so these moments can be shared with loved ones.
PLEASE NOTE: This is not an in person activity, “While You Were Away Journals” will be mailed to the postal address provided.
Defence Member and Family Support (DMFS) recognises the challenges that military families face when loved ones are away. DMFS has created a keepsake for children and adults to capture their memories and experiences during their partners, parent or carer’s absence. Children can use the “While You Were Away Journal” to get creative and decorate the book, so they can share it with their loved one when they return home.
DMFS Sydney will send the journal to your preferred postal address for use while the member is away from home.
There is a limit of one book per child and adult.
The “While You Were Away Journal” is most suitable for primary school-aged children.
